Establish in 2006, SBR starting coal business at Binuang Area South Kalimantan. First coal produce by SBR have the typical of high Calorific Value up to 6700 kcal/kg (ADB) basis. In 2007 SBR starting to operate another 3 more coal mine at South Kalimantan with the typical low and medium quality. Average production of SBR from south Kalimantan is about 1,500,000 mt per year.

In early 2008 SBR begin to expand the mining operation to South Sumatra, starting with 2 coal mines at Lahat district. SBR is one of the first company who built coal barge loading port at Tanjung Lago Palembang which is located close to planed public international port belong to government at tanjung Api-api. SBR is intent to expand further at South Sumatra and become the pioneer to build hauling road as the infrastructure to connect and maximize the potential of coal industry in South Sumatra as the province who have the biggest coal reserve in Indonesia.

For the first step SBR thought it subsidiary Servo Lintas Raya (SLR), success to acquire a license to build and operate Hauling road for 240 km from Lahat to Musi Banyuasin. The hauling road are design to be able to coal up to 50 Million ton per year. To be able to significantly reduce the hauling cost due to long distance between the mine site and the coastline where the coal can be transferred to barge or vessel, SLR is using double trailer truck with the capacity of 100 ton of each truck. For further usage the Hauling road can be used not only by coal but also other commodity from South Sumatra.

Another major development which is established by SBR for the coal industry at South Sumatra is building coal bulk terminal at Bangka Island. PT Bangka Bulk Terminal as SBR subsidiary which is responsible to build and operate Bulk terminal that able to load the vessel up to Cape size vessel with the loading capacity of 25,000-40,000 mt per day. Therefore South Sumatra Coal can be distributed internationally with competitive price.

Realizing that it is required a lot of experience and expertise to manage such a huge ton of coal, in the end of 2009 SBR is partnering with one of the biggest coal producer in Indonesia and make joint venture company name Servo Meda Sejahtera (SMS), with the hope of gaining the operation expertise and experience of handling and mobilizing huge amount of coal at the shortest time.

SBR continue to expand their existence in the coal industry by also building subsidiary responsible for Coal Mining Contractor, Coal Inspection and Consultant, Coal Processing and Upgrading, Coal Marine Transportation, Coal Marketing and Trading and even Coal Power Utilities.

All The above Subsidiary of SBR are expecting to be the excellence services provider at each sector and by combining together it shall create a synergy for SBR as the holding company that can provide an end to end mining services from the row material until it change to Energy.
