PT Tambang Batu Bara Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) targets an increase in coal production volume by 14%-15% in 2011 from this year’s estimate of 14 million tons.
The President Director of PTBA Sukrisno said that by the end of this year, production volume is estimated to increase by 10% to 14 million tons from 12.5 million tons at the end of last year.
Sukrisno declined to provide estimate of revenue and profit in 2011, since it is much dependent on average coal price, however he is optimistic of increase in his company operational performance.
"The average price is currently around Rp615,000 [per ton] and is fluctuative. It will increase, but (I) don’t know how much. Operation wise we will increase," he said to Bisnis.
Based on the corporate financial data, in the 3rd Q 2010, the net corporate profit fell by 38% to Rp1.39 trillion in the first 9 months of this year, from Rp2.23 trillion in the same period last year.
The downslide is in line with the 10% revenue decline to Rp5.9 trillion in September 2010 from Rp6.55 trillion in September 2009 and the increase in sales cost by 20% to Rp3.26 trillion from Rp2.72 trillion.
“Our profit increase is due to the increase in operational revenue, which still stood at around Rp1.4 trillion in the 3rd Q 2010, but we are optimistic that by the end of the yearit could surpass Rp2 trillion,” he added.
As for capital expenditure (capex) next year, the company has allocated funds worth Rp1.8 trillion from internal cash. Until September 2010 the corporate cash stood at Rp4.84 trillion or up by 84% from the same period last year of Rp2.63 trillion. “We have no plans to obtain a bank loan or from other external sources, because our cash still stood at Rp4.8 trillion,” he said.
Sukrisno said the capex will be utilise for development and business expansion. “For expansion, port development, routine activities, various things. However, the development is in phases,” he concluded.
